Welcome

Guardianship Services, Inc. (GSI) is in the business of making prudent decisions for people who can no longer formulate or communicate decisions for themselves. Through GSI's Guardianship Program, case managers and volunteers obtain community services, health treatment, housing, and benefits, thus enabling these clients to function as normally as possible, considering their limitations. The Money Management Program is a less restrictive alternative to guardianship. This program's case managers and volunteers monitor the financial affairs of  the clients, making sure that all limited resources are strictly utilized for their benefit.

The entire staff of GSI takes its responsibilities seriously. Our goal is to provide clients with as much autonomy as possible while protecting them from mistreatment or neglect. This is a delicate balancing act.

GSI serves as a last resort. All other alternatives have been tried. No friends or family members are available or suitable to assist these clients. Our involvement takes a client from a world of loneliness, despair, illness, and exploitation to a world of hope.

Latest News

GSI is celebrating its silver anniversary in 2010. This special occasion is dedicated to those in the community who have provided wisdom, guidance, resources and support throughout the years to ensure our ability to compassionately and professionally serve thousands of clients. The theme for 2010 is, most appropriately, "Changing Lives for a  Quarter Century." A number of events have been scheduled in honor of GSI's twenty-five years.

Our volunteers, who have given so generously of their time and knowledge, will be honored at a luncheon at the Ridglea Country Club on April 30, 2010. In addition, a dinner has been scheduled for October 9th at the Colonial Country Club. Please join us for an evening of joy, entertainment, dancing, delicious food and surprises. Sponsorship opportunities are available for both of these events.

A highlight of our year will be to share with you twenty-five short stories depicting the people and events that have impacted GSI and the difference our agency has made on so many lives. The stories will be e-mailed as well as posted on this website. Please share your e-mail address with us so you can receive the stories as well as other notices and newsletters concerning GSI's year of rejoicing.
